1. Explore the natural world from downtown Chicago

The MCA’s latest exhibition, “Diana Thater: The Sympathetic Imagination,” uses large-scale video installments to explore the natural world. It’s a fully immersive exhibit that demands the viewer’s full participation. (MCA, 220 E Chicago Ave, 10am–8pm. Price included in museum admission)

2. Laugh with Chicago’s up-and-coming comics

Chicago Underground Comedy puts up a fantastic lineup of stand-up comedians every single week—swing by Beat Kitchen tonight for big laughs on the cheap. (Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave, 9:30pm. $5)

3. Dig into ancient history

China’s famed terra cotta warriors are posted up at the Field Museum through the next two months. Marvel at these impressive artifacts while they’re still here. (Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, 9am–5pm. $29-$38 adults, $25–$32 students, $20–$26 children)
