1. Fall in love

Jimmy Whispers returns to Chicago with new material, a backing band and special guests for a mysterious, "one time only theatrical experience," that he’s calling “Fall in Love.” The low-fi pop crooner is joined by local supergroup Twin Hits (featuring members of Twin Peaks and Today’s Hits), Joan of Arc frontman Tim Kinsella and electro-folk act Fee Lion. (Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave, 8pm. $10)

2. Get the picture

Explore the Museum of Contemporary Photography’s group show, “The Grace of Intention Photography, Architecture and the Monument” featuring a collection of images that reinterpret monuments and explore their symbolic meanings over time. (Museum of Contemporary Photography, 600 S Michigan Ave, 10am–8pm. Free)

3. Don’t waste a moment

Put your problem solving skills to the test in one of D.O.A. Room Escape’s interactive experiences. You’ll be given one hour to escape a room inspired by darker events of Chicago’s past using clues to find the key. Gather your friends and your wits to see how you fare. (D.O.A. Room Escape, 1450 W Fullerton Ave, Unit A, see site for available times.  $29.50)
