The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. Celebrate Back to the Future Day
Although Robert Zemeckis’s latest vertigo-inducing The Walk is technically screening at an IMAX near you, today is all about his enduring, beloved Back to the Future trilogy. That's right. We’re all celebrating today on October 21, 2015, the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrive in the future in Part II. Whether you attend a retro prom costume party, see one of many screenings or just pop into the Wormhole, find a way to celebrate in Chicago.

2. Seek out the drama
Ayad Akhtar’s Pulitzer Prize–winning drama returns to the city where it first premiered. The tightly wound drama Disgraced, exploring themes of Islamophobia, assimilation and post 9/11 politics returns to Goodman slicker, sharper and just as shocking as when it opened. (The Goodman Theatre, 170 N Dearborn St, 7:30pm. $25–$82)

3. Drag yourself out to Logan Square
The Burlington’s monthly mega-fun bash is a monthly favorite for Chicago’s LBGT community and allies. Today, Burly gets extra fabulous throwing a Divine-themed party, paying tribute as well to John Waters. Visuals will include some Female Trouble, Hairspray and, of course, Pink Flamingos. Dressing up is mandatory. (The Burlington, 3425 W Fullerton Ave, 9pm. Free)
