The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. Pick a card

It’s the first Monday of the month, and that means you’re in for an evening of free, easy breezy bingo at the Boiler Room’s PBR Bingo night. Unwind with a chilly Pabst and a cheesy slice while trying your luck with some buds. (Boiler Room, 2210 N California Ave, 9pm. Free)

2. Guess who’s coming to improv

See one of iO’s long-running comedy staples at the Armando Diaz Experience, as a different monologist takes the stage each week to share personal stories that inspire the team of veterans in their hysterically funny scene. (iO Del Close Theatre, 1501 N Kingsbury St, 8pm. $12)

3. Go off the grid

Get away from the hustle and bustle and retreat to an isolated location far, far away. Explore the remote Canadian Yukon and Russia’s Sakhalin Island through the lens of a Canadian artist at the Art Institute’s photography and film exhibit “David Hartt: Interval,” where you can embrace a sense of displacement. (Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S Michigan Ave, 10:30am–5pm. Included in museum admission)
