1. Hear stories from the silver screen
The cinema comes to life at Flick Lit, a storytelling series inspired by the performers' favorite movies. These nonfiction tales about films that have changed lives are spread out between clips from the movies themselves and performances by musical guests. (Logan Theatre, 2646 N Milwaukee Ave, 7:30. Free)
2. Go to a bizarre one-man show
New York actor and improviser David Carl, who started portraying oddball actor Gary Busey in the satirical Point Break Live!, has taken his impersonation to a Shakespearean level. First performed at the New York International Fringe Festival, David Carl's Celebrity One-Man Hamlet is “as much stupid fun as its title suggests.” (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, 800 E Grand Ave, 7:30pm. $35–$45)
One of tonight’s shows is Felt, an puppet-improv show that is definitely not for children. If you're a fan of Wonder Showzen, you'll love this irreverent production. (iO Theater, 1501 N Kingsbury St, 8:30pm. $5)
