1. Check out Latino films

For 32 years, the Latino Film Festival has brought Chicago the best movie selections from Latino culture. As the largest Latino film festival in the United States, it brings over 100 features and shorts from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the United States. (AMC River East, 322 E Illinois St, multiple showings from 6pm-8:30pm, $10)

2. Get into the underground comedy scene

Chicago Underground Comedy features four or five comedians from the classic to the crazy. This place is all about performing comedy in your own way so be prepared for anything. (Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave, 9:30pm, $5)

3. See whimsical art

Examine the creative process of famed artist and sculptor, Martin Puryear. With his sketchbooks, drawings and prints on display, see how his concepts turned into actual pieces. (Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S Michigan Ave, 10:30am, $14-$25)
