Running through the streets during the Chicago Marathon can be exhilarating at first, but eventually the endless crowds of cheering onlookers start to blend together into one gigantic, amorphous blob of anonymous encouragement. Thankfully, some clever attendees brought a bit of reading material for passing runners, hoisting up handmade signs emblazoned with words of inspiration for specific participants and some playful observations about the event itself. We collected some of the best signs we spotted along the route on Sunday, including plenty of promises of booze (and even Taco Bell) at the finish line.
