The mayor's office confirmed just before noon Thursday that the Cubs’ victory parade and/or rally will take place Friday, November 4. As for where and when, we're still waiting for further details and will update this post when we have them. Hope you saved some PTO for the celebration.

UPDATE 3PM: The parade is expected to depart from Wrigley Field at 10am Friday, with viewing encouraged along Addison Street from Sheffield Avenue to Pine Grove Ave. The procession is expected to head south on Lake Shore Drive, with the downtown portion of the parade beginning at 11am, down Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to Ohio Street; the final viewing leg will be Columbus Drive from Monroe Street to Balbo Avenue.

The rally is then set to begin at about noon in Grant Park's Lower Hutchinson Field. There will be two entrances, both with security screenings: one at Michigan Avenue and Jackson Boulevard, the other at Michigan Avenue and Congress Parkway (the same entrance locations as this year's Lollapalooza). City officials are taking a strong zero-tolerance stand against public drinking, both along the parade routes and at the rally; only sealed water bottles will be allowed through security at Grant Park, with food vendors said to be doing business inside the park.
