After wowing us with its Stranger Things-themed pop-up bar, there's no question that the team at Emporium Pop-Ups in Logan Square knows how to transform a regular ole bar into a bonafide experience. Emporium's latest concept embraces the frightening spirit of the Halloween season, turning the entire bar into a haunted house. It's not just spooky cobwebs, fake body parts and styrofoam tombstones (though there are plenty of those items strewn throughout the space)—there's an actual house erected in the middle of the bar with multiple rooms that visitors can walk through.

Not into bloody sinks, glowing skeleton-lined corridors and dimly-lit passageways? Take a seat at the bar and order from the cocktail menu, which features drinks named after horror movie villains and locales. The most visually striking of the bunch is the Camp Crystal Lake, a punch served in a glass skull bottle made with Crystal Head vodka, pomegranate, elderflower and lemon. There's also a delicious twist on a Negroni called the Poltergeist, which features tequila and plum bitters, as well as a long list of beers, including Revolution Brewing's Red Skull ale.
If you can't make it out to the suburbs to a haunted house over Halloween weekend, House of the Dead brings the scares to a more convenient setting, along with plenty of liquid courage to get you through the night. The latest Emporium pop-up bar will possess 2367 N Milwaukee Avenue until November 4, but you can get a peek at the terrifying decor and menu by looking through our photos.
