After taking much of the winter off, the Sauced Night Market returns next week with a fresh lineup of food and retail vendors, as well as a worthwhile cause.
The roaming night market, which supports up-and-coming chefs and artists, will donate a portion of the proceeds from its spring night market to the medical expenses of Bridgeport DJ and community activist Logan Bay. Bay suffered severe injuries last month after being struck by a vehicle in front of his home and pinned against his car.
The market and fundraiser will be held at Emporium Logan Square and neighboring pop-up Branca Bar on Tuesday, April 25 from 6–11pm. During the event, $1 from every cocktail sold will support Bay's medical expenses, adding to the more than $68 thousand that has been collected through an online fundraiser.
This year's spring market is Sauced's first event of 2017. More than 20 food, art, retail and music vendors will take over the Logan Square arcade bar, with resident DJ Gloria Vanderbilt lined up to spin an all-vinyl set. There will also be a pop-up inside Branca Bar featuring food from chef Won Kim of Kimski and drinks by Matt "Peaches" Frederick of EZ Inn.
The 21-plus event is free to attend. For a complete list of vendors, check out the Sauced Facebook event.
