Diehard Chicago Cubs fan Eddie Vedder will bring Pearl Jam to Wrigley Field for a two-night stand at the stadium in August, according to North American tour dates newly announced by the band. The group also confirmed its long-rumored appearance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee—a performance that moved some to speculate that Pearl Jam might also headline Lollapalooza. Now, it seems very unlikely that the group will skirt Lolla's infamous radius clause and take the stage in Grant Park, just days after appearing in Chicago.
Following in the footsteps of recent Wrigley Field performances by act such as the Foo Fighters, Billy Joel and AC/DC, Pearl Jam will headline two concerts in the Friendly Confines on August 20 and 22. The shows will mark the group's second appearance in Wrigley Field, where Pearl Jam played a show in 2013 that was delayed by storms and inclement weather. We don't know when tickets will go on sale, but a message on the band's website promises that more details will be announced in the coming weeks.
