Summer is about to get even sweeter, as Original Rainbow Cone has announced it's setting up shop at Navy Pier on May 7.

The beloved Chicago ice cream maker celebrates 90 years of business in 2016, and owner Lynn Sapp says opening a second location—a small kiosk in front of Riva Restaurant on the pier—is something she's been hoping would happen for years. She says the timing couldn't be better, either, as Navy Pier celebrates its 100th year and exciting changes continue to be made. The addition of a Rainbow Cone is simply another indication to us that, at long last, Navy Pier is becoming cool

So now, whether you live near Beverly or tend to hang out at tourist attractions (everyone needs to check out the new Ferris Wheel, at least), you'll never be far from the classic, five-layered ice cream cone with flavors of chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts), pistachio and orange sherbet. The Navy Pier kiosk will initially be open from 11am–8pm on weekdays and 11am–10pm on the weekend, with hours extended through midnight at the height of summer.
