From time to time, every Chicagoan needs a bit of guidance. Whether it's from a friend who just won't let you go out drinking in River North or a boss who truly believes that you can take out the garbage faster, everyone in the city could use a nudge in the right the direction. Luckily, Uber has your back.

In celebration of Thursday's "Thank Your Mentor Day," the ride sharing company is offering a limited number of free rides accompanied by people who are way more successful than you. If you're within the promotion's coverage zone between 11am and 3pm on Thursday, you can enter the promo code "MENTORCHI" to unlock the Mentor option. If there's an accomplished person available, an Uber with a mentor in tow will pick you up, give you a set of life lessons for 15 minutes and drop you back at your original location. The brief bout of advice is free, which makes sense considering that you're not actually traveling anywhere.

The mentors include Techweek CEO Katy Lynch, Black Tech Mecca Inc. founder and CEO Fabian Elliott and MATH Venture Partners managing director Troy Henikoff. Uber recommends that you be prepared for your trip by bringing a resume and a list of goals that you'd like to discuss. It's unclear whether or not a 15-minute car ride with a stranger can turn your life around, but if you're looking for inspiration, this might be worth a try.
