You may just be settling into fall in Chicago, but cold weather is right around the corner (especially if the Farmer's Almanac is to be trusted). The arrival of freezing temperatures isn't all bad news—it also signals the return of ice skating season in the city.
One sure sign that winter is coming: Millennium Park has announced that the ever-popular McCormick Tribune Ice Rink will open on November 18, the same day as the Chicago Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. Visitors will be able to skate on the rink for free until March 5, 2017—if you don't own a pair of skates, they're available to rent for $12.
