Victory Gardens Theater has announced the cast for its world premiere of Roz and Ray by Karen Hartman. And the two-hander will get a powerhouse pair: Mary Beth Fisher and James Vincent Meredith will both make their Victory Gardens debuts in the production, staged by VG artistic director Chay Yew.
Hartman’s play centers on a father fighting for care for his hemophiliac sons, and a doctor who shows up with a seeming miracle cure. Meredith, a Steppenwolf ensemble member who recently led Othello at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, plays Ray; Fisher, a regular on the Goodman and Court stages and a nine-time Jeff nominee, is the doctor. Roz and Ray runs November 11–December 11 at Victory Gardens.
