Boat shoes, shorts and T-shirts may soon be proper attire for the Civic Opera House. Live outdoor screenings might soon be projected onto the back of the Civic Opera House above the Chicago River, as reported by DNA info. Operas, and possibly other performances, could illuminate the giant limestone edifice.
The idea is part of a pitch for several possible tourist attractions made at the City Club by Chicago business leaders Laurence Geller of Geller Capital Partners and Lou Raizin of Broadway in Chicago.
Although nothing is finalized yet, it’s hard to imagine anyone passing on this. Just picture it: Cozying up under the night sky with a bottle of wine while a world-class performance unfolds on the river in front of you. Yes, please.
