The food hall trend is heading north. Restaurant incubator group Now Open Project, the force behind rapidly expanding chains Furious Spoon and FireFin Poke, has announced plans for a 16,000- to 17,000-square-foot food hall at 3833 N Broadway in Lakeview, appropriately named Lakeview Market.

The new venue, set to open in summer 2018, is slated to include three bars—a cocktail bar, a sports bar and a wine bar—and will include outposts of both FireFin and Furious Spoon. The Budlong Hot Chicken is another confirmed tenant. Unlike the lunch-focused downtown food halls like Revival, Latinicity and the French Market, Lakeview Market will be open seven days a week, and some vendors (the bars, presumably) will stay open as late as midnight on the weekends.

Lakeview Market is part of a massive mixed-use redevelopment project on Broadway between Grace Street and Sheridan Road, an eight-story, 134-unit residential building with retail on the ground floor. The project by developer David Gassman displaced several longstanding businesses on the block, including Spritz Burger, Strawdog Theatre Company, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. and Tutto Fresco Trattoria. The Starbucks formerly located on the corner of Broadway and Sheridan will return as part of the new development.
