Derrick Rose's career might not be over, but that hasn't stopped a local artist from creating a vigil for the Bulls superstar. A painting dubbed "Pray-4-Rose" at the I-90 underpass on Fullerton Avenue shows the point guard donning a Christ-like thorny crown and gaze. A layout of candles, flowers and a pair of crutches adorn the memorial.
Last month, Rose underwent his third major knee surgery in the last three years, leaving Bulls fans little hope that the native son will ever return to his all-star form.
It's worth noting that this vigil is at the same underpass as the famous Virgin Mary stain, which means that it very well could be a divine act.
