Can't wait to hear Wilco's latest album, Schmilco? The beloved Chicago-based act’s 10th album will be released on September 9, but the band has arranged a nationwide series of listening parties on September 6 so that fans can hear its new (mostly acoustic) tunes and take home a copy of the record three days before its wide release.

Five Chicago record stores are participating in Wilco’s early album premiere on September 6 and each will have some exclusive items to give away to customers, including white label Schmilco LPs and slipmats featuring the album’s artwork (by Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornellà). Take a look at the participating Chicago stores below:

Laurie’s Planet of Sound (6pm)
Saki (6pm)
Pinwheel Records (6:30pm)
Dave’s Records (6pm)
Shuga Records (7pm)

Of course, there’s a chance you might hear a few songs from Schmilco when Wilco performs at Pritzker Pavilion this weekend (tickets are already sold out, naturally). The two previously-released singles are likely candidates—the band probably won’t play the new album in its entirety, like when it debuted Star Wars at Pitchfork Music Festival last summer.

Take a listen to Schmilco cuts “Locator” and “If I Ever Was a Child” below and take solace in the fact that this record sounds nothing like Jeff Tweedy’s Black Eyed Peas covers.
