On Sunday, Chicago was greeted by a huge looming specter, hanging red in the night sky: the super blood moon. Then, shortly after appearing, the blood moon was eclipsed—starting at about 8pm, the moon was behind a sheen of clouds, shrouded in an eerie darkness that crept over its blood-red face. Around 10pm, the redness began to fade and a black curtain was pulled across its surface, once again revealing the gray-white moon we're used to.
Despite the mild cloud cover, the cosmic event that hadn't occurred in several decades was still visible in Chicago, especially for the latter half. Chicagoans managed to take advantage of the prime photo opportunity and pull off some seriously rad shots of what for many could be a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.
Until next time...!
