St. Louis-area Dunkin' Donuts customers were surprised to learn this week that they were drinking the "Official coffee of the Chicago Blackhawks."

The doughnut mega chain accidentally shipped Chicago Blackhawks cups to a St. Louis-area location and staff actually served customers with them. The botched delivery coincided with the beginning of the Blackhawks' series against the St. Louis Blues.

One fan told local station KMOV4, "That's disgusting. They can't do that here. It's offensive."

Unfortunately, the shipment didn't produce a win for the Hawks. The Blues won last night's game in overtime after a fluke goal neither team expected. Blues captain David Backes even called it "an ugly goal." On the bright side, it was only the first game of the series, and the first game of the Blackhawks' playoff run.

Regarding the shipment, Dunkin' Donuts told KMOV4 that it was, “Due to an untimely shipping error from the regional distribution center. Being a local business owner and fan of the hometown team, the franchisee plans to switch out the cups as soon as they receive a new shipment.”

Suffice it to say, the fan the St. Louis station interviewed did not accept the apology.

The last time St. Louis sports fans were trolled by Chicago, it was on purpose. After the Cubs beat the Cardinals in the playoffs last year, one Cubs fan played "Go Cubs Go" on several jukeboxes throughout St. Louis for hours on end.

GO HAWKS!
