Beer and hot dogs have always paired nicely, but the Chicago Brewseum—the forthcoming museum dedicated to our favorite alcoholic beverage—is exploring a new way of combining the two locally-revered delicacies. At the upcoming Chicago Style event, 18 local breweries will sample beers that are inspired by the nine ingredients you'll find on a Chicago-style hot dog: a poppy seed bun, a beef wiener, tomatoes, dill pickles, onions, relish, sport peppers, mustard and celery salt. We're not sure who we feel worse for: the brewery that got stuck creating a spicy sport pepper pilsner or the one that had to make a somewhat palatable encased meat-infused Maibock.

The event will raise funds for the Chicago Brewseum, taking place at the newly reopened Theater on the Lake on November 18 from 1 to 5pm. Guests will receive a welcome beer (of the non-sausage–inspired variety) from Old Style, a Chicago dog and three-ounce samples of each of the savory, specially-created suds. Participating breweries include 5 Rabbit Cervecería, Band of Bohemia, Forbidden Root, Half Acre Beer Company, Marz Community Brewing, Moody Tongue Brewing Company, Revolution Brewing and Vice District Brewing.

A "speakeasy" within the event will be pouring a unique beer and will also contain an ingredient that can't be found on a traditional Chicago-style dog (ketchup seems like a good guess). There will also be live music and sausage-centric art for sale, in case you're looking for a mustard-covered masterpiece to tie a room together.

Admission is $59 and only 300 tickets are being sold, which means you won't have to wait in long lines to find out what a beer inspired by neon green relish tastes like.
