Labor Day weekend may signal the waning days of summer, but it's also when the North Coast Music Festival comes to Union Park. As usual, the annual festival's lineup is packed with electronic artists, hip-hop acts and jam bands—a combination that simultaneously makes it one of the most eclectic and niche summer music festivals in Chicago. Headliners at North Coast 2017 include trap music pioneer Gucci Mane, reggae artist Damien "Jr. Gong" Marley, genre-blending band Ween and English trip-hop producer Tipper, as well as a collaboration between EDM heavyweights Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz.
The remainder of the initial lineup includes some pleasant surprises, such as UK producer Bonobo performing with a live band, jazz fusion act BadBadNotGood, former Outkast emcee Big Boi and grime rapper Skepta.
