Today, the city and DCASE released its schedule of free summer concerts in Millennium Park, dubbed Downtown Sound. The Monday concert series seems to have absorbed another, the Thursday Loops & Variations series, which had paired electronic musicians with cutting-edge classical ensembles. There's a bit of that in the mix for 2015, as well as a welcome dose of Afrobeat with names like the Very Best, Antibalas and King Sunny Ade on the slate. Actually, the world music vibe runs deep, from Colombia's Ondatrópica to Mexico's Los Cojolites and veteran reggae troupe the Mighty Diamonds. On the indie-pop front, San Fermin, Active Child and Matthew Sweet are on tap. Check out the full schedule below.
