Aside from being one of Chicago's most talented musical ambassadors, Chance the Rapper is perhaps most recognizable as the guy who is always wearing a hat emblazoned with the number "3"—a reference to his third mixtape, Coloring Book. Those hoping to channel Chance's effortless style have been on the hunt for replicas of his signature headwear since he started sporting it on billboards and bus stops around the city. Anyone lucky enough to attend the recent Magnificent Coloring Day festival at U.S. Cellular Field had the opportunity to purchase an official New Era Chance 3 Cap, but those without tickets were forced to gaze longingly at overpriced eBay listings or settle for a poorly made knock-off.
Now Chance has started selling the official Chance 3 New Era hats through his website, where you can score your very own cap for just $45 (plus shipping and handling). The shop is also offering up reproductions of two of the New Era White Sox hats that Chance designed earlier this year—the ones that sold out almost immediately after they went on sale (and were also sold, in limited quantities, at Magnificent Coloring Day). The Chance-designed grey and blue Sox hats are also available for $45, but they probably won't last long.
If you score a Chance 3 hat and can track down a pair of khaki overalls, you can pretty much replicate Chance's MTV Music Awards look, which is depicted in the latest issue of Billboard magazine as part of the rapper's newly launched Grammy campaign (check it out below). We have a feeling you'll be seeing plenty of Chance the Rappers during Halloween this year...
