For high school girls across Chicago, the arrival of prom season means they have to make one very important decision: which dress they'll wear to the dance. While most girls flock to boutiques and dress stores to find a gown for the big dance, one local student chose a different shop to get outfitted for the dress of her dreams.

Cristal Garcia, a senior at Lakeview High School, won a contest held by local candy store Candyality in search for a candy super-fan to wear a dress made entirely out of candy wrappers. Candyality, which has four stores in Chicago, has created several candy-wrapper dresses in the past for display in art festivals and corporate events, but never for someone to actually wear.

Garcia collaborated with Candyality on the design and decided to make the dress out of wrappers from her favorite candy, Skittles. Her prom will be held on May 30 at Navy Pier, and she can't wait to wear her Skittles dress for the first time in front of her friends and classmates.

"My dress is a work of art," she says. "I am thrilled to have been able to collaborate with the Candyality team to create this masterpiece."

Next fall, Garcia will pursue her college education at University of Illinois-Chicago. But for now, she's living out her sweetest dreams of a perfect prom night.
