Broadway in Chicago has announced a full slate for its 2016 subscription season, to include the national tour of Fun Home, the 2015 Tony Award winner for best musical.

Fun Home, adapted from the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, also won the Tonys for best book of a musical and best score for Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori, respectively, as well as best direction for Sam Gold. The autobiographical story is about Bechdel's childhood growing up in a funeral home, coming into her lesbian identity and coming to terms with her father's closeted homosexuality. It will play the Bank of America Theatre for two weeks, November 2–13, 2016.

Also newly announced are: a non-Equity tour of Bullets Over Broadway, the recent Broadway musical adapted by Woody Allen from his 1994 film of the same name, April 19–May 1 at the Bank of America Theatre; an independent touring production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music, directed by Tony winner Jack O'Brien, June 7–19 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre; and the Harvey Weinstein–produced musical Finding Neverland, adapted from the film about Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie, November 22–December 4, 2016 at the Cadillac Palace.

The new shows join previously announced 42nd Street (March 8–20, Cadillac Palace) and the pre-Broadway tryout of The SpongeBob Musical (June 7–July 3, Oriental Theatre).

Several Broadway shows that have announced touring plans in recent months are missing from the list, including An American in Paris, Bridges of Madison County, the recent revivals of The King and I and On the Town, and 2015 Tony winner for best play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
