At first glance, this Lakeview home looks like something out of a J.R.R. Tolkien novel. Its green facade and Colonial style feel suggest that it was built generations ago, but construction on the place isn't even finished (it's set to be complete this spring).

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom house listed earlier this week at a whopping $4.95 million, and is as bourgeois as they come in Chicago. It boasts more than 7,700 square feet of space, a four-car garage, a wine cellar and a picturesque outdoor fireplace surrounded by heated walkways.

The agent listing dubs the pad as "the crown jewel of Graceland West" (that nook on the northern end of Lakeview adjacent to Graceland Cemetery), but even if it turns out to be one of the nicest homes in the area, its massive price tag could keep it on the market for quite some time.

Either way, I wouldn't mind relaxing by that fireplace while listening to 'ol Granddad tell stories about the way things used to be.
