If you've never heard of Halsted Street's "music mile," you're not alone. While the stretch of Halsted between Diversey and Armitage is the home of popular live music locales such as Kingston Mines and the Tonic Room, it's not exactly synonymous with music in the same way that Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile is known for shopping. To celebrate Lincoln Park's distinct music scene and rebrand the street as "Halsted's Music Mile," seven of these bars and music venues will host a one-day, indoor music fest on Thursday night that's mostly free of charge.
The All-In fest will be held at aliveOne, Four Star Lounge, The Wild Hare, Kingston Mines, B.L.U.E.S on Halstead, Tonic Room and The Store. Each bar will offer drink specials, live music from local bands and DJs, and no cover, with the exception of Kingston Mines. As the biggest name on the block, Kingston Mines will continue to charge a cover but will drop its entry fee from $12 to $9, which is still a deal if you stick around for all six blues sets.
The fun begins at 6pm at Four Star Lounge and runs all night long. So check out the music lineup below and head to Lincoln Park for the unofficial christening of Chicago's music mile.
