The Inconvenience has announced the writers, directors and casting for its fall stage project, The Citizens Anthology. A collection of six short pieces around a theme of civic responsibility was announced as simply Citizens in the group's February season release; the new title should help alleviate confusion with the Chicago Humanities Festival's fall slate, also called Citizens.
Curated by Josh Altman, the lineup of playwrights will include Caitlin Parrish, Fawzia Mirza, Bilal Dardai, Kristiana Colón and Andrew Hinderaker in addition to previously announced Inconvenience company member Ike Holter. The pieces will be directed by Keira Fromm, Brea Hayes, Thrisa Hodits, Lavina Jadhwani, Marti Lyons and Gus Menary and performed by a cast to include Anu Bhatt, Sydney Charles, Missi Davis, Melissa DuPrey, Roy Gonzalez, Tony Santiago, Dominique Worsley, Brad Smith and Brian Rad. The Citizens Anthology goes up November 6–15 at Collaboraction (update: the venue has changed to upstairs at Victory Gardens). The Inconvenience's sixth annual Fly Honey Show is currently running at the Chopin Theatre, through August 29.
