Kanye West won't be bringing his Saint Pablo tour to Chicago until October, but the hip-hop star is opening a Pablo pop-up shop somewhere in his hometown this weekend. The exact location of the Chicago shop has not yet been announced, but a release states that the store will be open between Friday, August 19 and Sunday, August 21. The Chicago store is just one of 21 Kanye-themed shops that will be taking up residence in cities all around the world this weekend.
Visitors to the Pablo store can expect a selection of merchandise based around Kanye's most recent album, The Life of Pablo, including T-shirts, hoodies and jackets. Previous Pablo pop-ups in New York and Los Angeles featured $45 T-shirts, $95 hoodies, and $400 thrift-store-sourced jackets, all sporting gothic script. Vogue reports that "each city will have its name spelled out on tees and hoodies...in a myriad of bold shades."
Of course, this isn't the first time that Kanye has opened up a pop-up store in Chicago. In 2013, the rapper opened a temporary store in the Gold Coast, selling merchandise from his Yeezus tour, including a $500 bomber jacket.
UPDATE: As it turns out, Kanye's Chicago pop-up store isn't actually in Chicago. If you want to wait in a long line for your chance to buy an expensive T-shirt in "a space exclusively designed by Kanye himself," you'll need to head to the Northbrook Court shopping mall (2171 Northbrook Court) in Northbrook, IL. The store will be open Friday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
