The first half of April has had us feeling a little lost. Can we leave the house without a jacket? Will wearing a sweater leave us sweating on the El? Do we need an umbrella? Sunscreen? Snowshoes? With temperatures fluctuating wildly and conditions changing from thunderstorms to driving snow to blue skies and back in the course of a few hours, it's become difficult to know how to behave. Here are 10 ways this weather is throwing us off.
1. You grab a daiquiri after work because the sun is shining, but immediately need a blanket upon leaving the bar.
2. You have five different coats and jackets hanging by your front door and need to switch between them daily.
3. You’ve put your winter clothes away three times only to keep lugging them out of storage.
4. You alternate between ordering tiki drinks and hot toddys at the bar.
5. You check the forecast and see 40 and sunny, but then find yourself heading out in the middle of a lightning storm totally unprepared.
6. You still have snow boots sitting under your desk at work because you don't know when you'll need them.
7. You spot bros walking down the street in shorts and sandals, with a winter coat.
8. You go from having your windows open for fresh air to turning your fireplace on within a two-hour period.
9. You don’t wear your coat to work because it's nice in the morning; by noon you’re seriously regretting that decision.
10. You spot the paleta man pushing his cart down the street—while wearing a coat, gloves and scarf.
