The decor is straight from a Holiday Inn circa 1992, and the clientele consists of the most touristy of tourists. Yet the spectacular, 40th-floor vantage point (a sparkling skyline out one window, an endless lake view out the other) makes this bar in the Avenue Hotel a tough one to compete with—so long as you keep your eyes on the outside view, not the inside one.
