Fans mourning the Metal Shaker, the Norwegian–black metal bar that once occupied this dimly lit venue, will get over it quickly when they find that this new spot has the same friendly, longtime bartender, a similar hard-rock ambience and more live weekend shows—including metal, country and rock. Revamped under the direction of a new partner (along with the bar’s Liar’s Club vets), the space boasts a new stage and DJ booth, cushioned panels along the walls to improve acoustics, a 100-disc jukebox and a booth built around a vintage Galaga video game.
