Situated in the former home of Northwest Bowl on the second floor of a nondescript building, Avondale Bowl is a blast from the past. With just eight lanes, you'll definitely need a reservation if you're hoping to roll strikes and spares in the evening. And be prepared to do some math, because there's no computerized scoring on Avondale's vintage lanes—you'll be keeping track of everyone's pin totals on a provided scorecard.
Even if you don't feel like renting a pair of shoes and knocking down some pins, Avondale Bowl is still a great place to hang. A bar in the back of the room is stocked with local beer, wine and cocktails that you can enjoy in a handful of booths while you listen to the sound of heavy balls tumbling down alleys lined with timber.
Reopening at limited capacity on May 5 after an extended closure, Avondale Bowl will be requiring reservations, whether you're coming to grab a drink or hit a few pins.
