While studying at Northwestern University and the Chicago Institute of Design, Japanese-American photographer Ishimoto captured striking scenes on the city’s streets in the 1950s, imbuing his shots with a sense of Modernism. This exhibition examines the images he created while living in Chicago, and the influence that his vision of the city still has today.
