A companion piece to the Museum of Contemporary Art's "The Long Dream" exhibition, The Dreamscape is a live stream of performances that showcases many of the artists featured in the exhibit. The four-hour online event takes place across a series of Zoom conferences that viewers will be able to move between, taking in musical performances, video art and conversations with artists. Highlights include a collabration between visual artists Selina Trepp and musicians Ben LaMar Gay, Lia Kohl and Macie Stewart; an Indigenous Futurism DJ set from Santiago X; and an interactive chat activity that will allow viewers to communicate with one another.
Co-hosted by radio DJ Ayana Contreras and OTV founder and artist Elijah McKinnon, The Dreamscape will also include works by other artists featured in "The Long Dream," including Joanna Furnans, Derek McPhatter, Jeanette Andrews and Darling "Shear" Squire. While the MCA remains closed to the public in light of current COVID-19 safety precautions, The Dreamscape offers a chance to experience creations by local artists from the comfort of your home.
