“The Barriers That Create Us”

Hailing from Chicago's South Side, painter Sage Smith presents a collection of work that use repetative motions and linework in an effort to alleviate the artist's own stress. Filled with otherworldly shapes and figures, the bold canvases draw upon her experiences as an Afro-Latinx woman, harnessing the therapeutic relationship that Smith has with the act of creation.
