An extensive survey of avant-garde and conceptual art that emerged in California during the late 1960s and early '70s, this thematically organized exhibition features work by 60 artists and collectives, including Ant Farm, Bas Jan Ader, John Baldessari, Chris Burden, Lynn Hershman, Bruce Nauman, Martha Rosler and Ed Ruscha. Originally part of the Pacific Standard Time series, the show features more than 150 socially charged, experimental and pioneering works, including installations, video, films, photographs, artists' books and more.
