A casually dressed Chinese man posed, centerfold-like, beside a waterfall. Water-damaged images of a bleak-looking Detroit. Found photographs and digital imagery are the focus of "Archive State," which explores-via artists' thoughtful selections and various methods of presentation-topics such as urban growth and decay and cities in flux. Artists Arianna Arcara and Luca Santese, Simon Menner, David Oresick, Thomas Sauvin, and Akram Zaatari act as creative architvists, taking images out of their original place and purpose and contextualizing them in new ways.
