Building a structure takes weeks, months or possibly years of meticulous planning. The Art Institute's "Architecture to Scale" exhibition examines this process, presenting a selection of models by Chicago postmodern architect Stanley Tigerman and films collected by Los Angeles firm Zago Architecture. The pieces document two different approaches to architecture by shedding light on the inspiration, research and planning behind a series of amazing structures.
