If there’s one thing Cascais does well, besides dreamy beaches and delicious restaurants, it’s throwing a great party. And during Carnival, the town turns into a true festival, with pirates, cowboys, princesses, and even aliens. There are plans for both kids and adults, from parades to parties.

Hotels and Restaurants

EVOLUTION Cascais-Estoril

Here, Carnival is synonymous with samba, Brazilian flavours, and unlimited fun. On March 4th, between 13.00 and 20.00, there will be a tropical brunch buffet, filled with Brazilian delicacies, vibrant cocktails, and a live samba session. It costs €65, with drinks included, where you can choose from beer, wine, soft drinks, gin, or the classic caipirinhas.

Bossa

If your perfect plan involves samba, friends, and an open bar, then party at the Bossa restaurant. On March 2nd, from 13.00, at Lake House – Onyria Quinta da Marinha, there will be an all-inclusive feijoada, live music with the Banda Samba do Serginho, and, of course, unlimited caipirinhas to ensure no one misses a beat. Make sure to get your ticket now.

Dances and parties

The party kicks off on March 1st with parades, traditional dances, and competitions. If you want samba in your feet, Samba no Cancelo (at 22.00) is a must-stop. If the goal is to dance until you drop, Baile do Baú with TÉNIS BAR and Baile Trapalhão with Banda Jamor are two safe bets (at 22.00). You can also swing by Mercado da Vila (at 14.00), which will bring music to the town centre.

On Sunday, March 2nd, the fun continues with Carnaval dos Diamantes (at 14:30) and a dance at Alvidense (at 15.00). For the little revellers, there’s a Kids’ Mask Contest in Tires (at 16.00). The party moves to Malveira da Serra, with GIMMY and RODZILLA (at 19.30).

On March 3rd, there’s something for everyone: street parties, themed dances, and miss competitions. DJ Miguel Simões promises to get Carcavelos dancing, Manique and Tires will crown their Carnival queens (at 22.00), and there’s an adult mask contest hosted by the Grupo de Instrução Popular da Amoreira (at 00.00).

March 4th brings the Grande Baile de Carnaval in Carcavelos (at 15.00) and more fun in Malveira da Serra with a dance competition. But the party doesn’t end there: on March 8th, there’s the Baile da Pinha (at 21.30), with a special edition for International Women’s Day.

Parades

Carnival without a street parade is not Carnival.

On March 1st, the Parade in Amoreira starts (at 15.00) and there will be entertainment at Largo Cidade Vitória, in Cascais (at 17.00). The rhythm continues the next day with a parade through the streets of Alvide (at 11.00), the parade in Malveira da Serra (at 15.00), and the lively Saloon Party by Sek Mintendes (at 15.00).

On March 4th, the Sardinha Imperial block (at 13.00) takes over downtown Cascais, while the little ones shine at the Children's Parade at Quinta da Carreira (at 14.00). For pet owners, there will be a Dog Parade (at 14.00) where they can show off their best costumes.

Kids

On March 1st (at 10.00, 11.00, and 14.00), Quinta do Pisão transforms into a Carnival studio, where kids can paint masks, discover the secret of Cuquedo, and create their own cabeçudo.

On March 2nd, there will be a workshop (at 15.00) dedicated to the superpowers of little heroes, where they can unleash their creativity. At the Sociedade Recreativa Musical de Carcavelos (at 15.30), there will be an afternoon with a mask contest, snacks, and a theater play full of adventures.

On March 3rd, FoodLab Cascais (at 17.00) invites mini chefs to get their hands on dough in a Carnival cooking workshop.

On March 4th, Cuquedo is back (at 10.30) for more stories, this time with face painting.
