A perfect day around the table in July

Every month, we set aside a day to sit, moving from table to table, for four unique meals. Whether you dedicate a whole day or spread them out throughout the month, the decision is yours. A perfect day at the table simply invites you to sit and enjoy.

A meal is the beginning of many things: good memories, new discoveries, comforting decisions, and moments where time seems to stand still. The question "but where?" is inevitable whenever someone suggests dining out. The answer is obviously in Time Out. We created a perfect day at the tables of Cascais.

A perfect day around the table in July

First stop: breakfast at Panisol

The day starts with a visit to the Mercado da Vila, offering plenty to taste—and even take home! Amid shopping and conversations, Panisol provides us with fresh, sweet pastries to kick off the day with energy.

Second stop: lunch at Spot by Fortaleza do Guincho

The weather calls for a good terrace with a view for a refreshing lunch. We stop at Spot by Fortaleza do Guincho, and even before ordering, we are already captivated by the view. The menu offers a rich selection of light options—salads, sandwiches, and shareable snacks—but the Arroz do Sado, Tomatada, Egg, and Basil “Alioli” (€24) caught our eye and confirmed its excellence on the palate. With a cocktail to accompany and a Hazelnut Chocolate Tart with White Miso Ice Cream (€8.50), we end lunch on a high note.

Third stop: afternoon snack at Palaphita

We are in Cascais, but with Brazil on our minds. There is no more immersive way to connect with Amazonian roots than at Palaphita, an Eco Lounge where the food has a deliciously exotic flavour. The Açaí SuperFoods (€9) and Cashew Cheesecake (€8) filled the table with satisfaction.

Fourth stop: dinner at O Pescador

We close the day in an intimate atmosphere at a former fishermen's tavern. With the freshest fish and live seafood, it delights fans of seafood cuisine. The decor beautifully complements the meal, leaving everyone who visits wanting to linger and return. The mixed grilled fish with seafood to share is the best way to savour what O Pescador has to offer. Don’t miss the wine cellar, featuring the finest wines to accompany your meal.

Bonus: Wine Affair at Sheraton Cascais Resort

On July 27th – and, if you want to plan ahead, on September 7th – all roads lead to the Sheraton Cascais Resort. The Wine Affair is a unique event highlighting different types of wine. The first session focuses on Rosé Wine and the second on Sparkling Wine.

The event includes a wine tasting starting at 5.00 PM and a masterclass beginning at 8.00 PM. And, of course, no good wine tasting is complete without accompanying gastronomic products. There will be cheeses, cured meats, jams, pâtés... If you need more good reasons to sign up, half of the registration fee goes to Make a Wish, a nonprofit organization that helps fulfill the wishes of seriously ill children.
