In the month in which it celebrates its 660th anniversary, Cascais is organising the municipality's week, with concerts, free surfing and yoga classes, DJ sets, festivals, showcooking sessions and the opening of the 50th anniversary of portuguese revolution travelling exhibition. The week of festivities coincides with the Santos Populares - and if Santo António is the patron saint of Cascais, then there's no shortage of festivals, dances, banners, basil, marches, grilled sardines jumping off the grill, imperials and lots of popular music. This is the guide to finding your way around the Santos Populares in Cascais and discovering the best festivities without getting lost or giving up.
