Farah’s Tandoori

For nine years, Farah’s Tandoori has been a gastronomic landmark in Carcavelos. It's an Indian restaurant owned by the couple Minaz and Rosemin Mawji, who were born and raised in Kenya and moved here via London in the 1980s. Their first restaurant, precisely with this name, was located on Rua de Santana à Lapa, in Lisbon. Among the menu's bestsellers are the crab curry with shell and prawn (13,50€), prawns with coconut sauce and rice (10,50€), and shrimp biryani with spices wrapped in rice (10,50€). Every three weeks, they host an Indian dance show to liven up the restaurant and attract customers — it's usually effective, so it's best to book a table if you want to attend one of these nights.
