For over a decade, the Estoril Conferences have brought together prominent figures from various professional sectors to discuss important topics for our society and our planet. The event returns for its 9th edition at the Nova SBE campus in Carcavelos on October 24th and 25th.
The theme remains ambitious: after "Re-humanizing the world" (2023), the event aims to pause and reflect. With an eye on the future, it explores what needs to be done in the present, as a community, to overcome international challenges. Through keynote speeches on the stage under the theme Time to ReThink and ensuing cross-disciplinary conversations, the goal is to promote debate on the changes happening now and those that will shape the future – from escalating armed conflicts to the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence that is transforming behaviors.
This time, in addition to the support of the Cascais City Council and Tourism of Portugal, the Conferences will collaborate with Harvard's Digital Data Design Institute (D^3), a highly prestigious institution dedicated to studying the impact of new technologies on the world. This partnership will allow for even broader coverage in the debates.
The guiding principles of the Estoril Conferences for October are peace, politics, planet, Artificial Intelligence, technology, and longevity. The commitment remains to "inspire society to promote a better world," says Laurinda Alves, Executive Director of the Estoril Conferences, in a statement. Names for the new edition have not yet been announced.
