Portugal’s biggest tennis tournament is back for its 10th edition—and, as always, it’s landing in Cascais for a week where world-class talent meets rising stars, great food, live music and family-friendly fun. The Millennium Estoril Open 2025 isn’t just a tournament—it’s a full-on celebration of tennis and the coastal charm of Cascais. Expect wild cards, surprises and one trophy waiting to be claimed.

Part of the ATP Challenger Tour, the Millennium Estoril Open draws players from over ten countries—each one keen (very keen) to make their mark on court and soak up everything Cascais has to offer beyond the baseline.

The main draw of the Millennium Estoril Open already boasts big names: Nuno Borges – Portugal’s number one and ranked 42nd in the world – João Fonseca – Brazil’s top player at just 18 years old – plus Miomir Kecmanovic and Pedro Martínez, finalists in the last two editions. Also joining the lineup are Kei Nishikori, Learner Tien, Alex Michelsen and Tomás Etcheverry.

But don’t take this as the final list – the last few spots will be decided by results from the Mutua Madrid Open. What we do know is that the first wild card has been awarded to Jaime Faria, who’s expected to bring the heat to the court.

João Zilhão, tournament director of the Millennium Estoril Open, sums it up perfectly: “We work 51 weeks to make that one week perfect.” The trophy – once again designed by Vista Alegre – is basically Louvre-worthy.

Dates for your calendar

From April 26th to May 4th, Estoril will host sun-drenched days and electric nights. The 26th kicks off with Kids Day – think tennis clinics with Portuguese players, magic and juggling shows by Funtoche, face painting and mascots galore. That same afternoon, the Celebrity Pro-Am pairs celebs with former tennis stars at the Millennium Stadium, complete with MC and DJ from 3pm to 4.30pm. On April 27th, eight big names battle it out for €20,000 in a crowd-fuelled Super Tiebreak showdown.

Some sessions are already sold out – including the final – so move fast if you want in.

Food, music and a side of champagne

The Slice Lounge and Slice Restaurant return with luxury dining experiences and Michelin-starred chefs. Night Sessions bring live music, RFM nights and chef-curated menus. Expect dishes by chef Kiko, Lucas Azevedo and Miguel Nunes during Casa do Marquês by Lemon Zest night; chef Miguel Laffan, Julien Montbant and Sebastião Coutinho for Chefs’ Agency night; and Tiago Penão, Gil Fernandes and Nelson Soares for Best of Cascais night. There’s even an official cocktail and a Fun Center packed with activities for all ages.

A greener kind of tournament

This year’s event is powered entirely by green energy. There’s free transport for ticket holders, a dedicated scooter parking area, and initiatives in partnership with the Cascais City Council, CERCICA and the Portuguese Heart Foundation.

Because tennis isn’t just about what happens on court

This edition once again proves that some of the most meaningful wins happen off-court. In Estoril’s Pátio, the Academia dos Champs will be running an IRS donation campaign; CERCICA will showcase and sell artwork created by its students – also on display at Lisbon’s Hospital da Luz – and the Portuguese Heart Foundation will be onsite to remind everyone that May is Heart Month.

This isn’t just a tennis tournament. It’s a celebration of the sport, of Cascais, and of community. Let the games begin.
