Slow J is the latest addition to the Ageas Cooljazz lineup. The Afro Fado artist, who will revisit tracks from his acclaimed album during his festival debut, takes the stage at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais on July 23rd.

Released in November 2023, Afro Fado marks the third chapter in João Batista Coelho’s discography. Following his groundbreaking 2017 debut, The Art of Slowing Down, and the 2019 follow-up You Are Forgiven, which cemented his place in the new wave of Portuguese hip-hop, his latest record received widespread praise from both fans and critics. It also earned two awards at the 6th Play Awards, including Best Male Artist.

"Tata", one of the standout tracks from the album, became Portugal's most-streamed song of the year on Spotify. Slow J was among the top five most-streamed artists on the platform, alongside Van Zee, Dillaz and Taylor Swift.

Slow J joins an impressive lineup for the 21st edition of Cooljazz, including Benjamin Clementine (July 4th), Seal (July 12th), and Gilsons (July 17th). Tickets for the Setúbal-born artist’s concert are on sale now, priced between €20 and €30.
