On the 17th of March, it's not just the Irish who celebrate St Patrick's Day. The Cascais FoodLab, located in Mercado da Vila, also joins in on the Irish festivities with a programme that includes music, dance, and, of course, traditional dishes.

The activities kick off at 11 am with a guided tour of the Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães. This is followed by a presentation of Irish dances at Mercado da Vila and a tasting of the popular Irish Coffee, a cocktail made with coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, cream, and grated nutmeg.

The lunch, served to 30 people, starts with two traditional Irish starters for the season: potato and leek soup with cream and herbs, and scallops with black pudding and crispy Parma ham. The main meal features spring chargrilled lamb, accompanied by soda bread, an Irish bread made with bicarbonate of soda. Traditional Irish beverages like Guinness will be served with the lunch, which concludes with a rhubarb crumble and vanilla cream.

Spaces for the lunch are limited and cost €45 per person. Bookings must be made through info@cascaisfoodlab.pt.
