We already knew that the lights, the ferris wheel, the tree, and the parade return to Cascais on 23rd of November - but Christmas truly begins with the opening of the popular Cascais Xmas Village. On that same day, Parque Marechal Carmona transforms once more into an enchanted village, where families can visit Santas’s house, the wizard's tower, the elves' workshops, real reindeers, and a living nativity scene (complete with camels!) until the 5th of January 2025.
The attractions don’t end there: there’s also an ice rink and ramp, a carousel, a mini ferris wheel, a train, a Nazarene village, a Roman camp, and, of course, a towering Christmas tree. The Pisão donkeys join the festivities, offering rides for the little ones, who can also visit the sweet house for face painting.
With so much to see and do, you’re bound to get hungry - easily fixed at the food court, where you’ll usually find hot dogs, burgers, roasted chestnuts, and crepes. And if there’s still holiday shopping to be done, there’s a market with stalls selling artisanal goods.
The Cascais Xmas Village will be open from 11.00 to 20.00 on the 29th November, and 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th of December; until 21.30 on all Saturdays and Sundays (as well as on the 18th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 26th, 27th and 30th of December, and 2nd and 3rd of January); from 11.00 to 17.00 on 24th and 31st of December; and from 15.00 to 20.00 on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Tickets range from €12 to €14, with free entry for children under 2. There are also three family packs: two adults and two children for €48, two adults and three children for €49, and two adults and four children for €70.
